OUR GOALS

The Institute of Sathya Sai Education for South Europe has set its goals:

• To promote value-based educational and self-development programmes
• To impart wholesome nourishment for body, mind and soul, starting from the education of the very young, accompanied by parenting programmes 
• To bring about a positive behavioural change by fostering self-discipline, self-control and self-confidence 
• To empower teachers by bringing values oriented education to the forefront and by reasserting the importance and nobility of their profession 
• To encourage an inter-cultural and inter-religious dialogue
• To offer the vision of Beauty, Truth and Goodness to our children, so that their inherent divine nature may unfold and blossom

The universal scope and significance of the Human Values of Truth, Righteousness, Peace, Love and Nonviolence makes it easy to integrate them within the educational setting of every culture. This is why the SSEHV programme can be adapted to all curricula, offering a meeting point for current trends in value-based education. In this way, it is in line with the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights (Art. 26 – December 10, 1948), which says:

“Education shall be directed to the full development of the human personality and to the strengthening of respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms. It shall promote understanding, tolerance and friendship among all nations, racial or religious groups, and shall further the activities of the United Nations for the maintenance of peace.”

A life long learning process

True Education is not connected only to schooling – it is a life long learning process. It should be upheld by all segments of society as an overall social concern and responsibilty. Aiming at the welfare of all people the Sathya Sai Institute for Education in South Europe is guided by a vision of a new world made possible,thanks to a spiritual awareness, in which harmony, peace and love prevail on earth.
