The SSEHV pedagogy is experiential, transformational and integral. This is possible thanks to five basic teaching techniques, which embrace body, mind and soul. They are:
Silent sitting
Story telling
Quotes and Prayers
Group Singing
Group Activities
By integrating Human Values into the normal school curriculum through an articulated pattern of lesson plans or and by developing extracurricular activities in which the values stand out, SSEHV familiarises children from their early years of schooling with the sense and meaning of Human Values and the importance of living up to them day by day. This results in the blossoming of a harmonious character, in which head, heart and hands work in accord, revealing a deep unity within oneself.
There is a key to reach this state of inner unity. A key that all children and young people have in their hands and can learn to use by simply turning it inwards. In order to do so, they have to acknowledge the role of the heart, and to abide by its loving counsel, fostering purity, integrity and self-confidence. When the heart or conscience approves our thoughts and the intentions behind them, we act with virtue, determination and courage. When our practice of “turning this key” is done repeatedly, as we search for what is right and what is wrong, it becomes engrained in our subconscious and builds a habit, which finally creates a good character.
