The 11th Seminar on SSEHV in Israel

Course 2, Module 2 - Ein Hod (Israel)  – 3rd December, 2022.

The 11th Seminar on SSEHV in Israel

On December 3rd the 11th SSEHV Training Seminar offered by the Institute of Sathya Sai Education of South Europe (ISSE SE), took place at the Culture House of Ein Hod, a small artist village in North Israel, immersed in a beautiful natural setting overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.

The Seminar welcomed a group of around 35 people, many of whom had attended previous SSEHV sessions, including the ISSE SE online SSEHV training Course, ongoing since 2021. The topics were carefully chosen to reach out to a broad audience; all participants shared positive feedback and favourable comments.

The seminar opened with an inspiring meditation on the Light, guided by Ms. Brigitte Kashtan, National Council President of the SSSIO of Israel and was followed by two outstanding presentations delivered by the keynote speaker, Mr. George Bebedelis, Director of the ISSE SE. The presentations, which focussed on the important topic of “Divine Love: the eternal yearning for Truth, Goodness and Beauty”, based on the philosophies of Plato, Plotinus and Sathya Sai, brought joy and inspiration to the audience. Moreover, George’s deep knowledge of the subject, rich experience and unique way of representing a living example of the philosophy and values he shares, was tangible and highly appreciated by all.

Ms. Eva Lautersztein, a professional choir director, wonderfully contributed to the uplifting atmosphere of the seminar by teaching Peace songs to the participants. She also described a special project she is carrying out in which classes of Jewish and Arab children sing together. Eva stressed how learning songs in one another's language is a wonderful way to talk about the importance of respecting cultural and religious differences, and to enhance the practice of carefully listening to one another. She shared practical hints and techniques to improve this capacity, as well as to learn to listen to one’s own voice while singing.

Finally, an inspiring workshop revolving around the topic of “How to implement Human Values in Personal and Family Life” was presented by Mr. Shay Manheimer, a senior member of the SSSIO of Israel, who related the story of his personal spiritual transformation. He additionally explained how he teaches value-based principles to his three children: by using stories illustrating human values, by stressing the importance of responsibility and love for others by caring for family pets, and by facilitating the children’s practice of “Constant Integrated Awareness” (i.e. Concentrated focus and "presence”). An example of this would be to encourage them to practice walking with a half full plastic bottle on their head! In this way they learn that you can carry out your tasks maintaining, at the same time, your focus on "what you are carrying on your head”; in other words, without ever disconnecting from the Ideals and Values you foster in your mind and heart!

All participants expressed their appreciation for the seminar, and the day ended in an atmosphere of Love and Brotherhood.
